MojNews-South Africa Government asked ICJ to order Zionists to withdraw from Rafah.
As part of an ongoing case brought by South Africa, which blamed Israel for acts of genocide against Palestinians, the court has been asked to take additional emergency measures over Israel’s assault on Rafah where some 1.4 million people are sheltering after fleeing other parts of the Palestinian territory.
South Africa said in its request that additional measures were necessary because of Israel’s “assault on Rafah and the extreme risk it poses for humanitarian supplies and basic services into Gaza … and to the very survival of Palestinians in Gaza as a group”.
Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
