Washington:
"Maximum pressure" against Iran was a huge defeat
A State Department spokesman described the Donald Trump administration's "maximum pressure" campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran as a "grave defeat."
MojNews_ US State Department spokeswoman Ned Price told a daily news conference on Tuesday (Tuesday) that despite the pressure exerted on Iran by President Joe Biden۳۹;s administration over the past year, "the administration is pushing for maximum pressure." US President Donald Trump has been a major defeat against Tehran.
According to the Hill website, the US State Department spokesman criticized the Trump administration۳۹;s policies towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying:
The fact is that the previous US administration left us with a host of terrible options. The maximum pressure campaign was a huge defeat and came true contrary to what was promised.
Price stated that the Trump administration had promised that with the policy of maximum pressure against Iran, it would reach a better agreement with Iran, but this promise was not fulfilled.
A State Department spokesman said in response to the reverse results of the former president۳۹;s maximum pressure policy against Iran that Trump had promised to disrupt Iran۳۹;s nuclear program with a maximum pressure campaign, which had the opposite effect and failed to achieve this goal.
Price also went on to say that Donald Trump had also promised to unite the international community against Iran by exerting maximum pressure on the Islamic Republic, which did not happen, and the opposite happened.
He then referred to these cases and said:
Contrary to what Trump promised, (right now), we have inherited an Iran nuclear program that is moving forward, and we have an Iranian nuclear program that is not subject to a system of verification and oversight.
