Speaking to reporters shortly after arriving at Andrews۳۹;s military base, Biden said he planned to send a small number of US troops to Eastern Europe in the near future.
According to the Hill website, he confirmed the reports about the sending of American troops to Eastern Europe to help Ukraine, and explained:
In the near future, I will transfer troops to Eastern Europe in NATO countries. Of course, their number will not be large.
Biden stressed the small size of the military group to be sent to Eastern Europe, as Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said a few days ago:
About ۸,۵۰۰ US troops are on standby to potentially be ready to deploy in Europe if needed.
According to Reuters, the U.S. forces that were informed of the readiness for deployment on Monday included additional brigade teams, logistics personnel, medical support, air support, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.
