Some American media reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime continues.

The ministry said in a statement:

Israel continues to illegally occupy and continuously annex Palestinian territories in violation of numerous Security Council and UN General Assembly resolutions.

Earlier, the US State Department expressed concern over the clashes at Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday and called for the preservation of the historic site.
