Iran reacted to attack on US forces in Jordan

MojNews-Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani reacted to attack on US forces in Jordan.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan&#۳۹;ani has reacted to the recent attack carried out on a US base on Jordan border which resulted in the death and injury of several American troops.

"Since the beginning of the current crisis in Gaza, the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly warned about the danger of expanding the scope of the conflict in the region due to the continued attacks of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people, as well as the all-out support of the United States for the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank," Kan'ani said on Monday morning.

The senior Iranian diplomat went on to say that Tehran considers the repeated violation of the national sovereignty of Iraq and Syria by the American forces and the US attacks against Resistance groups as an intensifying factor for this cycle of instability.

"Re-emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and security in the region, the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that war in Gaza is not the solution and ending the attacks of the Zionist regime on Gaza and an immediate ceasefire can be the basis for the return of peace to the region," he stressed.

Once again, Kan'ani reiterated that the Resistance groups in the region do not take orders from the Islamic Republic of Iran in their decisions and actions, adding that Iran does not interfere in the decisions of the Resistance groups on how to support the Palestinian nation or defend themselves and their people against any aggression and occupation.

The foreign ministry spokesman emphasized that the baseless accusation leveled against Iran is a conspiracy made by those who see their interests in dragging America into a new conflict in the region and inciting it in the expansion and escalation of the crisis.

"Iran monitors developments in the region with readiness and vigilance, and the responsibility for the consequences of provocative accusations against Iran rests with the perpetrators of such baseless claims," he concluded.

On Sunday night, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the United Nations said that Iran had no connection and had nothing to do with the attack on the US base.

The Iranian mission in the UN issued the statement as some of the critics of the administration of the US President and hawkish Republicans were in their efforts to link the attack on the Al-Tanf base to Iran.

This is while several unnamed American officials were quoted by the media as saying that it remained uncertain if Iran was involved in the attack on the US base on the Jordan-Syria border.

Later on Sunday, the Washington Post reported that the Iraqi Islamic Resistance claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on American forces in Jordan by issuing a statement.

In the statement, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance said, "We declare our responsibility for the attack that targeted American forces in Jordan."

An Iraqi Islamic Resistance official has also announced that if America continues to support Israel, such attacks will intensify.

Resistance groups based in Iraq have repeatedly hit US bases on Iraqi and Syrian territories with missiles and drones over the past weeks in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

The groups are also outraged at the US military presence in the region, which they see as a source of instability, as well as Washington’s support for the Israeli regime in its ongoing war on Gaza.
