MojNews-The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Iran strongly condemns U.S., Britain attacks against Yemen. 

Iran's foreign ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, strongly condemned recent aerial and missile assaults by the United States and Britain in various regions of Yemen.

Kanaani characterized these attacks as “a blatant infringement upon Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity,” also noting them as “a grave violation of international rights” by both the U.S. and Britain.

He emphasized the sustained unilateral nature of these actions, portraying them as a palpable and ominous threat to international peace and security. Kanaani further elucidated that the military escapades undertaken by the U.S. and Britain in the region persistently reveal a fundamentally misguided policy, where violence becomes the chosen means to pursue objectives that are generally perceived as questionable and illegitimate, contradicting repeated claims from Washington and London about a disinterest in escalating war or engagement in the geographical expanse.

Moreover, Kanaani highlighted the continued support extended by the U.S. and Britain towards war crimes carried out by the Zionist regime. He pointed out that their ongoing military interventions in the region actively contribute to the escalation of chaos, insecurity, and instability, seemingly creating a strategic open space for a regime accused of genocidal activities against the Palestinian population. In light of these developments, Kanaani asserted the international community's undeniable responsibility to hold both the U.S. and Britain accountable for their actions and to seek a resolution prioritizing peace, stability, and justice in the region.

American and British forces launched a series of airstrikes on Yemen today, striking 36 targets at 13 locations including in the capital of Sana’a.

The strikes hit areas in the south of Sana’a, according to Yemen’s al-Masirah TV. The U.S. forces involved included F/A-18 fighter jets launched from the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier as well as Tomahawk missiles fired by U.S. Navy vessels in the waters off Yemen.

The bombings in Yemen come a day after American forces launched major airstrikes on 85 targets in Iraq and Syria. In a statement on Friday, U.S. President Joe Biden said the strikes were the first in a series of actions by Washington in response to a drone attack that killed three American soldiers and left about 40 others injured in an occupation base near the Jordan-Syria border earlier in the week.

The resistance group has weathered numerous strikes by the U.S. and Britain on Yemen to target vessels bound for Israeli ports in solidarity with the Palestinians who for the past four months have been subject to one of the most ferocious bombing campaigns in recent history.   

The United States has provided Israel with a steady supply of weapons and intelligence support and blocked UN resolutions calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Palestinian territory.

The war in Gaza has resulted in significant Palestinian casualties, with over 27,000 killed and 66,000 injured since the invasion began on October 7.
