The senior Iranian diplomat made the comments while speaking at a ceremony at Iran's embassy in Damascus on the occasion of the International Quds Day.
Saying that Iran filed a complaint against Tel Aviv at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) after the Israeli regime targeted the building of the country's consulate in Damascus and clearly violated all international laws, Akbari underlined that since the UNSC failed to take the necessary decisions to prevent the repetition of such horrible crimes by the Zionist regime, Iran reserves its right to respond.
Iran warns the UNSC member states not to remain silent in the face of these crimes and to fulfill their duties in maintaining international peace and security, he emphasized.
He went on to say that the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus was an attempt to provoke sedition and create division among the Syrian people, adding that such goals of the Zionists would never be realized.
