Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with the ambassadors of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the United Nations headquarters in New York Friday.
In continuation of his diplomatic consultations and meetings in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran held a meeting with the ambassadors of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, during which Amir-Abdollahian expressed Iran's views regarding the Palestinian issue and the crimes of the Zionist regime, as well as Iran's legitimate defense against the Israeli regime.
Explaining the operation of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the military positions of the aggressor Zionist regime within the framework of legitimate defense and international law, he emphasized that although the Islamic Republic of Iran could have done a much larger scale operation, only that part of the military positions of the Zionist regime was targeted from where the attack on Iran's conuslate in Damascus had been launched.
Amir-Abdollahian further reminded that the Islamic Republic of Iran was able to achieve its goals with its minimal response to the earlier Israeli aggression.
"We were able to show our decisive will and target the military bases from where the attack against our embassy had been launched and convey our message to the regime," he added.
He further pointed to the shooting down of some quadcopters (mini drones) above a military airbase in Isfhan in central Iran earlier on Friday by the Iranian air defense and stressed that the incident caused no damage or casualties.
At the end of his remarks, Amir-Abdollahian further reported of the holding of the big event of the sixth exhibition of Iran's export capabilities known as Iran Expo in Tehran next week inviting the attendees at the meeting to participate in the event.
