MojNews-Iranian volleyball player Ghaemi ended playing career.

One of the winningest Iran’s volleyball players of the last decade, Farhad Ghaemi announced the end of his playing career.

Ghaemi was a member of Iran national volleyball team from 2011 to 2020. He was part of the team labelled the golden generation with stars like Amir Ghafour, Saeid Marouf, Farhad Zarif, Mohammad Mousavi and Shahram Mahmoudi.  

Vladimir Alekno asked the player to join the team for the 2020 Olympic Games but he failed to live up to the Russian coach’s expectations.

Ghaemi won two titles in the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games as well as a bronze medal in the World Grand Champions Cup.

He works together with Iran U18 coach Adel Gholami as his assistant.

Ghaemi most recently played for the Iranian volleyball club Foolad Sirjan.
