Iranian, Qatari FMs hold telephone conversation
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has held a telephone conversation with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and discussed issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
MojNews_ The latest developments in ties between Tehran and Doha in political, economic and consular realms were the most important issues discussed during the telephone conversation.
Pursuant to previous negotiations between the officials of the two countries over the FIFA World Cup in Qatar as an important event and areas of cooperation in this regard, Iranian foreign minister exchanged views with his Qatari counterpart.
In this telephone conversation, Amir-Abdollahian also referred to the sanctions removal negotiations and underlined Iran’s determination to reach a good, strong and lasting deal.
Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, for his part, described consultations over bilateral ties over various issues between the two countries as important.
He declared his country’s readiness to fully cooperate with Iran regarding the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Qatari foreign minister further pointed to Iran’s logical stance and said continuation of the sanctions removal talks is important.
